Interim Report

Active learning for me has been a long and sometimes painful ride. Through this journey I've gotten stronger and more physical then I would have without it. If it wasn't for this, I wouldn't be active at all. Everyday I make sure to arrive on time to begin the class as soon as I can. There was one day where I had went to the doctor for lunch and period three, but, I told my mom I wanted to make sure that I got back for gym. And so I did. When it comes to the big groups in gym, I'm not much of a talker. But when I'm with just some of our class or with my group of friends, the 5 of us, I can get a little goofy and I believe I bring a positive mood to the environment. Some of the things that encourage me to work harder include my friends and family, always pushing me to work hard and do well in my life. If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't be where I am now in fitness. When it comes to P.E. strip, it is the clothes I wear on an everyday basis, sweatpants, a t-shirt, a sweater, and runners. Occasionally, I have to change out of a pair of boots but that is only on rainy days or snow days. Throughout gym, I have been taught to run for longer periods of time, which is something I really proud of. In extracurricular activities, the only thing I will be doing is joining the badminton team. My favourite part of gym is when we have choice days and I can play either volleyball or badminton with all my friends. The only thing I have to work on is flexibility but other then that, I think gym will be a breeze for the rest of the year.

The Big Picture:
Honestly, P.E isn't my favourite subject, though I still believe it is a great subject to be doing. P.E in my opinion isn't just all about playing games and working out. It is all about learning the importance of keeping healthy and enjoying yourself while doing so even if you do work up a sweat. P.E to me is just keeping active so you aren't just sitting around all the time being lazy but actually getting up and running around. When we do have gym, I enjoy exercising on the free-for-all days where I can have intense games of volleyball with my friends, even if we lose every game. If I were to grade myself, I'd give myself an A and G. I know that a lot of students will be giving that exact answer but I truly feel like I've pushed as hard as I can and worked hard to deserve that grade. I come to gym every second day to have fun and get up and run every once and a while and so far, that's what I've done.

My Body And Health:
My motivation to be active is by my mom. I know that kinda sounds lame but she is a really good motivator to me. She has been working so hard between yoga and running she is losing a ton of weight and I'm proud of her. During our regular days I work up a bit of a sweat and that's it, but on fitness days, I am sweating and breathing deep then in the morning, sometimes I can be a little sore but nothing severe. One of the big things that can slow me down during gym sometimes is my flexibility. I don't do anything that has to do with flexibility and it can be hard in some of the work out things we do. I deal with that issue by just pushing it as hard as I can until I fall or can't push further then I take about a 5 second break and start back up again. After all of these difficult activities, I feel a little bit stronger. So far that's all but as the year goes on, I'm sure I'll be maybe 10x better then where I am now.

My Attitude And Effort:
Everyday I make sure to make it on time with proper gym strip when needed (I wear gym strip everyday anyways). I'm always ready to run, stretch, and play everyday because that is what I'm expecting to do. Nothing prevents me from ever not wearing proper gym strip since my gym strip are
the clothes I wear everyday.  Whenever we do these activities, I'm always pretty when it comes to trying and staying positive about it. Even when I don't like what we are doing I still do my best and I do that by telling myself that it will be over before I know it. I'm not that intense when it comes to fitness days, I'm not as fast to keep up. I go at my own pace and if I need a break I take a small one (about 5 seconds or so). When it comes to others, I have my 5 friends that do the courses with me. My one friend especially, I always help to keep her moving. She is about my level in all the activities so when she gets tired I push her further by telling her that she can do it if I can do it and that it will all be over soon. When it comes to leadership, to be honest I don't think I'm much of an influence. At the same time, I don't ruin the class either. I'm kinda just present, another student in the class, not much else.

Growing/Learning Skills
I see a little improvement in some of the areas I struggle on. For example, I am now able to last longer during the activities before taking a break. There are still things I could work on but those are goals I hope to accomplish by the end of this year. When I no longer have gym I'll probably get active by doing things with my mom and taking my dogs for walks but that is pretty much it.
